Arnica as effective as ibuprofen gel
In a study comparing the effectiveness of Arnica gel and ibuprofen gel for osteoarthritis, more patients testing Arnica gel (64%) expressed satisfaction than those testing ibuprofen gel (58.8%). The clinical trial – a randomized, double-blind study – included 204 participants who had radiology results confirming osteoarthritis in their fingers. The study was conducted by 20 Swiss doctors who also evaluated the efficacy of the Arnica gel as better than that of the ibuprofen gel overall since it was as effective and better tolerated.

On October 25, 2007 a debate between six internationally renowned experts (Iris Bell, M.D., Ph.D., Rustum Roy Ph.D., Andre Saine N.D., Donald Marcus M.D., Steven Novella M.D., and Naduv Davidovitch M.D., Ph.D.) was held as they examined the basic science as well as the clinical and historical evidence around this 200 year old system of medicine.
